How to keep in touch after graduation?
While you are attending school you will meet all kinds of people, some of whom will become friends for life. You will also find that after you graduate you will lose contact with most of the people you went to school with. This does not have to be the case however; there are lots of ways that you can keep in touch after graduation.
The most common way for people to keep in touch after they have graduated is to do it online. There are all kinds of options that you can use for this; the most obvious would be Facebook. Most people have accounts already anyway so this is a pretty simple thing to do. You can of course just add the people that you want to stay in touch with as friends. However you will probably find it easier to create a page specifically for graduates of your school so that anybody who went can sign up.
Another option that you have for staying in touch after you graduate is to check to see if the school offers a website that for former students. Most schools these days will have a site that you can use as way to keep in touch. In most cases you will be able to sort people by the year in which they graduated which will make it easy to find people who were in the same class as you. Not all schools have these sites but it is well worth checking to see if your school does.
Most schools also have an alumni association which is geared towards providing services to former students. In many cases one of these services will be providing contact information so that you can get in touch with other former students. Learning a language may be available online or it may require you to actually call the school. You will have to look into what your school provides and how they go about doing it. Most people use the alumni association more for professional reasons then they do for social contact so keep that in mind if you are going to contact people this way.
There is a pretty good chance that the people you took the same classes with at school were studying the same thing that you were. That means they likely went into a similar career field after they graduated. This can provide you with another way to stay in touch with former classmates; you are likely members of similar professional organizations. Networking is an important part of business so most people who work in similar career fields will join organizations that allows them to meet and stay in touch with other people in the same field. This can be a good way to find people that you already know because you went to school with them.
